Strong 5390 UPDATE
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE UPDATE:
This update will ONLY work with the 5390 with 80 and 120 gig hard disk. If didn't get an email from Hantrex advising you of this update, then please make sure you have one of these boxes.
This update fixes:
- Boot up and shutdown bug fixed
- Loss of timer information when bootup/shutdown occurs bug fixed
- Timer overlap issues resolved, especially when recording shows past midnight
You will need a null modem cable to perform this update.
If you’re in Melbourne and not confident doing the update, please bring the box to us and we’ll perform the update free of charge.
You do not need to perform the update if you’re happy with how your box is performing at the moment.

The loader program is included in the zip file.
Note, you may need to right click these links and choose save to disk.
Unzip the files to a single directory.
First, run the program Uploader.exe
Next, open the new software file by clicking on 'file open' select 5390update.bin
Now select which COM port you have the null modem cable connected to.
Plug in the Null modem cable to the set top box and the COM port on the computer
Plug the power lead for the set top box into the power point.
Click Start on the uploader program.
Switch the power on using the rocker switch on the back of the set top box.
Software will start downloading automatically.
If this fails, try a different COM port or different null modem cable.
If you're still having troubles, please call us and we'll try to assist you.
Lastly, if you need a null modem cable, and can't find one locally, we're more than happy to send you one for $20 total including postage. Just fill in the order form and we'll send one out to you.
