Strong 5290 UPDATE
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE UPDATE:
This update will ONLY work with the 5290 with GAMES. If didn't get an email from Hantrex advising you of this update, then please make sure you have games on your box. If you pass this page on to friends, please make sure they have the box with games as well. Software for the non games version is in development.
This update contains revised:
* Time shift feature staying active after timer recording
* Fast forward / fast rewing stability issues fixed
* Disc icon to indicate recording active
You will need a null modem cable to perform this update.
If you’re in Melbourne and not confident doing the update, please bring the box to us and we’ll perform the update free of charge.
You do not need to perform the update if you’re happy with how your box is performing at the moment.

Note, you may need to right click these links and choose save to disk.
Unzip the files.
First, run the program SRT5200Up201.EXE
Next, open the new software file by clicking on 'file open'
Now select which COM port you have the null modem cable connected to.
Plug in the Null modem cable to the set top box.
Plug the power lead for the set top box into the power point.
Switch the power on using the rocker switch on the back of the set top box.
Software will start downloading automatically.
If this fails, try a different COM port or different null modem cable.
If you're still having troubles, please call us and we'll try to assist you.
Lastly, if you need a null modem cable, and can't find one locally, we're more than happy to send you one for $20 total including postage. Just fill in the order form and we'll send one out to you.
